The Inter-Allied Victory Medal was awarded to all soldiers, officers and enlisted men, who served during the First World War.
Curiosity: Made of bronze, the obverse depicts the winged Victory standing on a chariot, with a flaming torch in her right hand, and below it four lions tied to the chariot by two festoons of laurel leaves.
The reverse features a tripod in the center, a symbol of communication, surmounted by two doves flying in opposite directions, carrying an olive branch, a symbol of peace, in their beaks. At the top edge are the words: "GREAT DEFEAT FOR CIVILIZATION"; in the exergue: "TO THE COMBATANTS OF THE ALLIED AND ASSOCIATED NATIONS"; on the sides of the tripod are the Roman numerals: "MCMXIV" and "MCMXVIII".
The medal was to be worn on the left side of the chest, suspended from a 37 mm wide ribbon in the colours of two rainbows placed side by side in red with a white border at the edges, identical to those of the other Allied and Associated Nations that established the medal.
