The external iron part is fixed and stable, the DECAL is also fixed and stable without the risk of coming off.
No varnish or polish has been applied, nor has it been treated with oxalic acid or other restoration techniques. It is exactly in the condition in which it was found years ago, and has always been kept in a dry place since.
In condition as per photo, the inner rim and chin strap attachment buckles are present.
I can't quite make out the codes on the iron shell, but it should be a SIZE 54. In fact, a 4 is visible on the inside flap in the area where the size is usually printed. You can see it circled in red in the photo.
