A Bersagliere troop blackamoor, in excellent condition and complete with its plume and lining, including the chin strap. The brass insignia features a grenade with a removable tab for inserting the regiment number.
Curiosity: The plumed hat, called moretto or vaira (in honor of Giuseppe Vayra who was the first to wear the corps uniform) was and still is used during armed honorary services and parades, when on patrol or picket duty and with the full uniform.
It is the most recognizable emblem of the Corps, the most heartfelt symbol of its traditions, second in this only to the tricolour.
