Dadao, originally conceived as an agricultural tool, thanks to its long handle and its powerful blade perfect for cutting, soon became the preferred weapon of the peasant militias of feudal China.

Its popularity has spanned the centuries, even being adopted by the military; in fact, even in the 20th century it was the common sidearm and the symbol of the Chinese army and police.

A nationalist song was even dedicated to it, the ''Dadao March'', composed to commemorate the fierce anti-Japanese resistance in the Second Sino-Japanese War (1937-1945). An incredibly robust and virtually indestructible instrument, the blade is made of 1075 high-carbon steel, with a Hardwood handle.

Complete with practical and safe leather sheath with pressure closure.

Here are the manufacturer's specifications:

Blade Length: 21-1/4"

Thickness: 1/4"

Overall Length: 32"

Weight: 3.4 lbs.

NB The image is an example, the available model is exactly the same, but shows some slight signs of use.

Due to inflation, raw material shortages, the ongoing war, and the pandemic, these pieces have become particularly difficult to find, and the waiting period to order one can vary by several months.
