British beret of the Royal Green Jackets, a light infantry regiment disbanded in 2007.
The regiment participated in patrol operations against PIRA terrorists in Northern Ireland, as well as serving in Germany with British forces assigned to NATO. Contingents took part in British peacekeeping operations in Bosnia and Kosovo, and one of the battalions was later deployed during the initial stages of the Iraq war in 2003.
The RGJ was disbanded in February 2007 as part of a reorganisation of British infantry units.
